This year a panel of judges including Japanese nationals, art and foreign language teachers in the area judged the ninth annual NCJLT Nengajo Contest 2007, the year of the Boar. A little over 600 cards submitted from 110 schools nationwide. Among those cards, 93 came from K - 5 level, 122 came from 6 - 8 level, and 394 came from 9 - 12 level. We would like to see more entries from elementary and middle school levels!

This concludes my three years of NCJLT Nengajo Contest Chair. It was a great honor to work with you all, and a pleasure to see many beautiful Nengajo from your students.

Great job, everyone!
